Stainless steel

Therefore it is not possible to make rounded shapes in the jewelry; the stainless steel jewelry has a coarser appearance. 

 

Stainless steel has several advantages. It is 100% waterproof, but also allergy free. In addition, it is also a very durable material. It is 100% recyclable.

 

Gold plated

Gold plated jewelry is made of copper with a thin layer of gold or white gold. This thin layer of gold gives the items a real jewelry look. Gold plated jewelry can be cut out and rounded. This is one reason why customers prefer to buy gold plated over stainless steel. Another advantage is that gold plated items are often cheaper than stainless steel items or complete gold jewelry. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on jewelry, gold plated items are a good choice.

Plating - how is it done 

Gold plated jewelry is put through a gold bath. This gold plating gives the jewelry a beautiful shine. The metal layer is applied through "vacuum plating". The layer is heated in a vacuum chamber. The low pressure reduces the boiling point of the metal. This allows the metal vapor to condense and form a layer over the jewelry.
